Claudia Falquez-Warkentin

Claudia Falquez-Warkentin is the founder of Cayena Law. Claudia’s focus over many years of practice has been to build relationships with her clients that set a solid foundation for legal services that meet each of her clients’ needs.

As an advocate for her clients at a very challenging time in their lives, passion and compassion describe Claudia’s style in her legal practice of more than twenty years.

Claudia’s penchant for justice started very early in her life in elementary school, as she was popular in resolving school yard skirmishes. Claudia realized early her stint in Engineering school was not her cup of tea, and as fate would have it no other way, Claudia has earned two law degrees one in civil law in Colombia and a second in common law in Canada.

Claudia earned her first law degree in Colombia, South America and her second law degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario, becoming fortuitously in her long journey, the first female lawyer with foreign legal training to be called to the Ontario Bar in 1999.

Prior to founding Cayena Law PC, Claudia enjoyed many years as a partner at Davies, Spina Falquez LLP, a collegial environment characterized by professional camaraderie, excellence in legal work and growth. Claudia articled at a major law firm in London, Ontario.

Claudia keeps herself grounded organizing fundraising events for the relief of poverty of children in Colombia; her passion for dragon boating races and bicycling; and mentoring young Hispanic lawyers.

As part of her commitment to legal education, Claudia has co-developed and presented legal courses and seminars through public venues such as the University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, as well as Corporate and Non-profit Organizations in the cities of Toronto, London and Mississauga.

Claudia’s community involvement spans 10 years as Vice President of the Canadian Colombian Children’s Organization; Lead Committee member of the Hispanic Women’s Network, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of Hispanic women’s entrepreneurship; and support of community arts and theater.

Claudia takes special pride in obtaining results for her clients, playing a part in building new and strong paths out of conflict and into their future.
